LOTTIE OH MY GOD GET YOUR ASS TO BED
Mr. Arrow looked around the port that the ship he had been riding on docked at. He was finally back on Montressor, and though he had spent weeks on the planet preparing for the voyage to Treasure Planet, it now felt alien to him, unfamiliar. Had that galactic cafe just a tiny way down the road always been there, or was that a new addition? And who were these men loading and unloading all the ships on the dock? What happened to the old men? With a slight twinge of sadness, Arrow once again thought of all that he had missed during the 2.5 months that he had be gone from the ship and crew after that he had almost died in the black hole, the rest of the travel through space, the victory of finding Treasure Planet (as soon as he had been well enough to be able to read again, he found that the voyage had indeed been a success, as the story appeared in every newspaper in the galaxy), the planning of already another voyage with the Captain on the way back home…
Arrow shook his head to clear his mind. There was no time for that now, what he needed to do was to find Captain Amelia, who he finally learned after the months of searching was back on Montressor, planning with Dr. Doppler another voyage, to where he had no idea. Arrow had actually been quite surprised to learn that the Captain was teaming up with the doctor, as the last he had known they both detested each other, but then again, he thought, space does have a unique way of bring people together in unlikely pairings. He walked through the port and continued on down the road towards the inn where the Captain was staying, with only a bag of clothing being his luggage, as most of his possessions had been on the ship when he had fallen off of it.
When Arrow reached the inn where Captain Amelia was staying, and found out that she was indeed up in the room she was using as a temporary office, he went upstairs until he was right outside the door and stopped, struck suddenly by a lot of nerves. Though he and the Captain had always been on good terms, and though he would have never said it allowed for fear of being inappropriate while on duty, even friends, he was suddenly more nervous than he had ever been in his life. He was finally going to meet up with the Captain for the first time in 2.5 months, and though he knew that she would want to know everything that had happened between him falling off the ship and now, it wasn’t the knowledge that he was going to have to explain everything that had happened that made Arrow nervous, it was his uncertainty to how the Captain would react to him to showing up out of the blue after thinking that he had been dead for 2.5 months that got to him. However, he realized that he was just wasting time by standing here and worrying about the inevitable and that he would deal with whatever came to pass.
Arrow knocked on the door of the Captain’s office, and when he heard her say “Come in” in a voice that was barely recognizable after all the time he had spent apart from her (yet another faint twinge of sadness passed though Arrow’s mind), he took a deep breath, opened the door, and walked in.
